Ribblesdale Camera Walk

Sunday 25th March 2012
Join me on a walk through one of my favourite stretches of Ribblesdale to photograph classic Dales scenery of villages, waterfalls, rivers and limestone pavements.

Meeting at Langcliffe, we will first explore this attractive village before heading across the fields to the industrial ruins beneath Stainforth Scar which include the magnificent Hoffman lime kiln. Continuing on to Stainforth, with its attractive stepping stones, we will drop down to the rushing waters of Stainforth Force and the National Trust packhorse bridge. Next we will climb above the village to the more secluded Catrigg Force, set within a dark ravine. The day will finish with an exploration of the limestone pavement at Winskill, which enjoys fabulous views of Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough, before dropping back down to Langcliffe.

The variety of subject matter in such a small area is quite remarkable. Not only will the workshop include classic landscape photography but there will also be the opportunity to practice low-light long exposures and experiment with shooting water.
