A dodgy single-track road takes you to Carsaig Bay on Mull’s south coast. It is the starting point for a walk to the Carsaig Arches but is a worthy destination in its own right with huge boulder strewn shore, patches of lovely woodland and fantastic basalt cliffs. It is also reputed to be a good location for spotting eagles among other wildlife, though on the rather miserable day I was there only a solitary seal deigned to show itself.
