My eye was caught by the light of the setting sun catching the lips of various eroded channels in the limestone pavement. In a race against time I eventually found this Z-shaped arrangement and just managed to set up the large format camera to make two exposures literally seconds before the light died.

The Arnside - Silverdale AONB is a compact but fascinating area on the border of Lancashire and Cumbria. It offers a fine mix of coastal and woodland scenery, with some fabulous areas of limestone pavement.
