Cottongrass is one of the wonders of moorland and I am lucky to have a good patch on the hills above my home. I usually give up trying to capture a still image as it is rarely calm on the tops, besides which the swaying movement is more evocative of this seasonal magic show. An extra element that I enjoy with this image is the way the dark cloud frames the cotton wool cloud, which in turn provides a nice link to the fluffy clump of cottongrass in the foreground.
