I made a note of this barn when I walked past it whilst walking the Ribble Way in the summer of '06. A showery, winter morning provided ideal conditions to return and attempt a photograph. Early mist disappeared from the slopes of Smearsett Scar in the background but then dramatic light broke through the cloud. It was then a case of holding my nerve waiting for the light to strike the barn alone.
