This curious split boulder sits above Kingsdale amongst some good limestone pavement. I'd actually packed-up for the evening and had just set off when a burst of light broke through the cloud and illuminated Twistleton and created a brief rainbow. A frantic few minutes followed.

A View of Ingleborough
Ingleborough is one of those special hills that exerts an influence beyond its immediate environs. I think it no coincidence that the stone circle on Cheetham Close, above my home in Bolton, was constructed slightly away from the summit where Ingleborough comes into view. This got me thinking about other landscapes where Ingleborough has a presence and how they are all connected. This thought, coupled with a comment by Joe Cornish, in his book 'First Light,' about Roseberry Topping, led to the start of this ongoing project.
