Pen-y-Ghent and Ribblesdale
From Smearsett Scar there are commanding views of Pen-y-Ghent and Ribblesdale. A rainstorm had just passed and as it progressed up the dale a shaft of light struck the flanks of Pen-y-Ghent and a faint rainbow appeared over the summit. The soaking I’d received earlier was quickly forgotten.

Landscapes of the Ribble
My first book "Landscapes of the Ribble" has now been published by Frances Lincoln. The title is fairly self-explanatory - the images in the book follow the River Ribble from source to sea, exploring the varied landscapes of this delightful area. This gallery contains a selection of images from the book. Copies of the book are currently unavailable, though you may be able to find one through Amazon.
