Thornwick Bay sunset
Summer is the best time to visit Thornwick Bay, near Flamborough, as the setting sun strikes the chalk cliffs, turning them every shade of orange that you can imagine. On this evening I’d given up waiting for any break in the weather and gone to explore Thornwick Nab. Upon cresting the ridge I could look out to sea and realised that the sun was about to drop beneath the cloud layer. I dashed back to my chosen viewpoint and set up just in time to catch the light before it faded.
